TodayPay's Better Refund™ allows Merchants to offer the best end-to-end customer experience by decoupling the refund, from the return, to provide customers with instant gratification around their refund. When a Merchant approves a product return, an API call is sent to TodayPay requesting a Better Refund™ for the customer. In that API call, the Merchant will provide transaction info, including customer details and the return shipment tracking number. We use that tracking number's event timeline to determine when customers receive and are able to access their refund.
On merchant approval, customers can see 100% of their refund in pending status, but are not able to access it
On shipping carrier scan, customers will be able to access up to 80% of their refund
7 days after delivery to merchant, customer is able to access the remaining 20% of their refund
